Same as MSU. Dan would do much better at a big boy school with an already established defensive recruiting base. He’s no better thanSumlin at A&M

Since Mullin has come up in our search... My biggest concern with Mullin is that he is what he is. He's been at State for what, nine seasons or so, and he may well be his body of work and no more. OTOH, he could be like James Franklin was at Vandy (with better character - I think Franklin is a sleaze bucket). I just don't know.
I think any school considering him is weighing that. Can Mullin take the next step at a bigger school that has more resources or is he what his record says he is?

Not in the least. I was merely ribbing you a little for misspelling Saban. Ranier Sabin is a UA beat writer for al.com.
It was already obvious you were bothered that ATM stands a good chance of being able to hire Mullen away if they want to.

Exactly what someone bothered would say.

Don't think Dan wants to take a LO-Lateral move baw.
aTm is shite & Dan is on the upswing at MSU. If he takes another HC job, it will be much larger than a tackle box.

I’m sure he’s having a similar debate with his inner circle about the nature of the TN football program. Is it a sleeping giant that has simply made some unfortunate coaching hires? Or is it a washed up relic of a bygone era like Notre Dame or Nebraska?

Yes they should, but Mullen should say no thanx.
Much better job out there(florida), and FSU could come open if you believe the rumors.
FSU/UF>>>>>>aTm

Mullen probably going to end up at Tennessee, which would be a great hire

It's a fair question given the hires we've made. The resources are there though for a turnkey operation as is the talent. The most frustrating thing about Jones this year has been that the talent is there yet they've played like slaw. The penny-pinching hires we've made are exactly why this hire absolutely has to be the right guy.
I don't know if Mullen is that guy or if it's someone else.

I spelled Saban the way I did because the multiple ways people misspell Mullen, Mullins, Merlins,,, that satire may be difficult for a gump to understand. Our rivals have been trying to get Mullen hired away for years, after that little scare last Saturday night, now bammers are jumping on board.
