I don't care who I piss off with this post, deal with it.I don't want to see ANY frickin' Negative Nellie's on here whiny assin' about what happened on what year, that kind of bullshite loses games. The main difference in THIS team,is they go out and take care of the business at hand. There is no reason we can't come out with flames out of our assed, and bust the frickers mouth in across the line of scrimmage. We need to take the Rrins of this game early, and Chaney better come out with guns a blazing and set tones for this game. Hunker Down You Hairy MF'ing DAWGS!!! GATA

I'm quite familiar with "get[ting] people fired up".
Ever read the book, Gates of Fire? It's about the 300 Spartans that fought the battle of thermopylae. It's a historical fictional work but it's very entertaining. Here's a section that always comes to mind when people insist on needing to get people fired up:

quote:
"The Spartans are schooled to regard the foe, any foe, as nameless and faceless. In their minds it is the mark of an ill-prepared and amateur army to rely in the moments before battle on what they call pseudoandreia, false courage, meaning the artificially inflated martial frenzy produced by a general's eleventh-hour harangue or some peak of bronze-banging bravado built to by shouting, shield-pounding and the like."
