How good is our 2015 recruiting class?

In sum, we will have to wait and see because, frick Fat Ketch, that's why!
As everybody already knows, Fat Ketch deliberately downgrades A&M recruits and upgrades sips. Rivals rankings compaired to other sevices is pretty telling. Either the State of Texas has shittier talent than before, or Fat Ketch is influencing the numbers to keep A&M out of the top 10
Examples:
Dayon Mack's national rank:
ESPN 6
Scout 11
247. 14
Rivals. frickING 54!!!
Composite falls to 18.
Kyler Murray
ESPN. 13
Scout 37
247 33
Rivals SEVENTY frickING ONE
Composite. 30
For players outside Texas, where Fat Ketch can't get his gator-arm, buffalo-sauce-caked stubbies on the rankings, the results are different.
Cristian Kirk.
ESPN 35
Scout 26
247 25
[b]Rivals. 16?????? What the frick???/[b]
Composite 41??? Da fuq?
Fat Ketch, having no control over the AZ rankings, was not able to manipulate Kirk's rankings to fit the narrative.
Here is where shite gets fricking weird.:
Anthony Wheeler
ESPN 66
Scout 111
247. 136
Rivals 76
Composite 73
Huge swings on various sites. No real consensus on this player. But, no serious downgrade by Rivals.
Malik Jefferson
ESPN 33
Scout 4
247. 12
Rivals 28
Composite. 10
Again. No consensus on his rank but no huge downgrade.
Chris Warren
ESPN 102
Scout 56
247. 80
Rivals. 159
Composite 77
What the frick? These guys are all over the place.
Holton Hill
ESPN 152
Scout 60
247. 69
Rivals. 121
Composite. 80
Somehow, the fricking longhorns have a better class with this shite going on. I cannot explain it.
So, in sum, frick Fat Ketch. This is pure manipulation. That's the only explanation.
That is all.

Maybe he just doesn't know how to evaluate talent. (He really doesn't).
Nah, let's quit kidding ourselves. He does this on purpose. He has done a bad job at hiding it, (the Luke Joeckel edit comes to mind) but I think he does it for business purposes. Don't get me wrong, he seems do a good job at writing about what is going on with Longhorn recruits (which is what he sells behind a pay wall). But in order to keep those subscriptions, he has to sell the "We're Texas" image. All you have to do is go back and see the ranking history of Tyrone Swoopes. He went from a 5* QB early in his Jr. year to a 5* Athlete by the end of the season, and then a 4* athlete his senior year when it became obvious that he sucked (before his injury). Keeping Aggy down is just part of the "We're Texas" attitude his buyers are expecting.
His job is to keep Orangebloods customers happy and by fixing the rankings, he wins. Can't really blame him for that since he seems to have some sort of immunity from Rivals.

I blame Ketch a lot for their current state of affairs. It's amazing that the media doesn't call him on it or that rivals allows him to have such an influence. Maybe other states rivals do it as well, but I don't keep up with Alabama or Mississippi's rivals rankings to see if they have a similar problem.
Mack and the horns started believing their own hype that Ketch and Chip were spewing and then they were beating their chest over 4 and 5 stars that were 2.5 to 3.5 IRL stars at best.
Joeckel and Swoops are the biggest examples of this. He refused to admit Joeckel was a talent and that Swoops was going to be a bust.

This is what boggles my mind when it comes to him, as well. It's not like his biased tactics are some huge secret.
It's fascinating to watch, though.

He is not ethical. Remember, he stole money from a scholarship fundraiser for a dead longhorn player. (allegedly)

disregard espn recruiting and rivals has lost some credibility the past couple years. scout is probably the best website for breaking down recruits and i usually go with 247 composite for overall ratings since they compile all the websites together and you cant really argue after that. a&m had a good class. mack will be a great anchor on that defensive front.
