Quite frankly that’s a decision that just doesn’t make too much sense on his part.

It truly sounds like he’s scared of the SEC.

Actually it does strategically. I can take my P&G glasses off and see it for what it is. As the ESPNU talk shows said this week, ultimately the PAC12 is USC and everybody else. Nobody other than USC has brand impact outside the PAC12 footprint. Riley is not going to get to the CFP as frequently at OU once they are in the SEC. Period. He can quickly with the talent in the Metro LA area get USC back to where Pete Carroll had them and in that league, he can get into the CFP as frequently as he did at OU in the Big12.

O made big time mistakes in his personal like, in my view, which impacted his Football decision, again my view, which resulted in an 11-11 record the last 2 years. But lets look at this at the macro level, only 2 current coaches in the SEC have wins over Saban, Jimbo and O (who is now fired). Kirby has his chance to join that list next week.

Riley comes to LSU and lets say in 2 or 3 years is O for Saban and the internet nutt jobs would be calling for his head.

If he takes the USC job, it is a lateral move in prestige from OU to USC (both blue blood traditions) but the path to the CFP is significantly easier at USC in the PAC12 than what it is going to be at OU in the SEC.
