The Kiffin hire and getting the boosters on board. Those old fricks wanted to retain Luke, he said no. They wanted to hire fricking McIntyre, and Carter whipped his hammer out and said “it’s going to be Kiffin. Either get on board or I’ll whip you across the head and throw you the frick out. Let’s ride”.

I cannot see Carter tolerating substandard BB, especilally with the facilities we have. Obviously FB is the priority and hopefully he gets that settled ASAP.

The best thing Carter does is spend money to make money. The second best thing he has done is he got that "we need an Ole Miss guy" mindset to go away. It's the Alabama blueprint. Alabama had a big line of shitty "Alabama guys" before they went out and made money no object and got Saban. We need to keep Kiffin. Lebby can run an offense but Kiffin can run a program. He just made Ole Miss a player's destination. Our recruiting will take a jump forward.

The part where no one from the administration to kiffin to the media has confirmed this rumor. That's why i asked if anyone had confirmation.

Nobody is going to publicly come out and tell the media that Carter told the boosters to fall in line or get out. But it’s what happened

I don't know if it's true or not. That's why i asked if anyone had confirmation. You would think a new deal would have been announced by now. It couldn't hurt with respect to recruiting.

I don't get the weird back and forth here. He asked for a source. This is 2021 and the internet is 75% or more rumor than truth. Until it's announced, take it with a grain of salt, but like I said months ago, the chance of Lane leaving this year is nearly 0.
