Is this a first offense? If so, his money will get him off light

Uh, no. The mood in America has toughened up
considerably against drunk driving in recent years
and especially where it leads to injury or
death for victims---NFL player or not---and the
more money you have, the more will be taken by
lawyers and suits.
Ruggs' Adidas contract will be or is already canceled
---his $millions in guaranteed money will rapidly
dissolve. In Nevada, DUI causing death is
punishable by a minimum of two years in prison &
maximum of 20, first offense or not. It's likely to
drag in court for months---and regardless of
the eventual outcome, Henry Ruggs' life will never be
the same. (all of course based on blood alcohol
above legal limit)

way longer. A simple misdemeanor would take months to get fully resolved. Even if the toxicology report comes back clean, he'll still be charged with vehicular manslaughter, at minimum, more than likely (which is actually a misdemeanor in NV fwiw). Whatever the case, things like this don't get resolved quickly criminally or civilly. He'll be dealing with this, in some respect, for years probably
