So in the past, I never paid much attention to Mizzou recruiting other than the few big splashes over the years. But now with only the future to look forward to, and with Drink's celebrated recruiting advancement I've become more interested.

So here is my question Drink's 2021 class had a total of 24 commits 0-2-22 5-star/4-star/3-star respectively. The current slash line is 1-6-8 for a total of 15. With less than 2 months before early signing period and a little over 3 months to national signing day, the total number seems a littel tepid. 247 lists only 2 offers as "warm"...DeSean Brown and DJ Wesolak whose legal troubles have been discussed in other threads.

My question...is this normal at this stage? Is this sufficient? From where are the other commits coming assuming a 15 commit class isn't sufficient - the portal?
Or is 15 enough? With all the talk of lack of depth, I wouldn't think so.

There were a few 17 -18 top 25 classes last year and even OU at 16, but it seemed most tended to be 20+

I believe what you are seeing is Drink getting the kids he wants instead if "getting what he can get." Mizzou isn't a blueblood so it takes alot of focus to land these higher rated kids and alot of balls to put the 3 star kids on hold while he pursues the blue chips.

Nebraska just lost their highest rated kid, who is now a Mizzou lean, plus there will be other kids committed elsewhere who will flip when Mizzou calls. Being a part of a top 15 class is a draw for top 3 star kids. It shows that there is something special going on.

Mack Brown did the same thing last year at NC. He focused on quality, and kids piled on at the end. I suspect we will see the same.

Mac Brown has had about 3 awesome recruiting classes in a row and the one this year is even more awesome, but his success doesn't equal the talent on paper.

His 2022 class(2 five stars and 8 four stars)

This sounds encouraging.

So you think there are a good number of 3-star kids out there that we will offer once we feel that we've gone as far as we can with 4-star offers? Again, if 247 is up to date we have only 2 "warms" with all our outstanding offers. It seems to me it might be time to expand the offer pool.

247 "warms" isn't an all encompassing list of who is interested in Mizzou. The majority of our commits never get to "warm" nor get a crystal ball prediction. Drink will fill out this class nicely, whether it be HS or transfer recruits.
