Agree, and for the poster who mocked Birmingham, the new Legacy Arena, a basketball arena, next to the new Protective Stadium and all the surrounding area, is really nice. There really is huge development in Birmingham today: downtown the new "uptown," and the southside around UAB. Crime is on the west side of town, Ensley mainly. It's different from Memphis, where today you see the whole Peabody Place standing empty. The Autozone baseball stadium there and Fed Ex Areana are nice, but you do get quickly into some danger zones.
