African American head football coach ever won a national championship?

Blacks account for roughly 13% of the US population. The likelihood of that happening is pretty slim.

Also, bringing race up in a topic like this just comes across as race baiting. Truth of the matter is, the best person (coach) should be hired based off being the most qualified for the job.

If hiring a black man is the best for the job, then great, he deserves the opportunity. But, as stated above, blacks account for roughly 13% of the US population. You will never see that many black coaches on the sidelines as a head coach.

On top of all that, winning a national championship is a difficult task. The chances of winning a natty, unless you are at a school with a great recruiting base and tradition is slim.

Statistically, you should see about 13% of head coaches, then, be African American; but you don't.
