I was made aware after the Lane Kiffin press conference that Devin Brown said he had not spoken to anyone about the quote I put about his visit that we put up on the tidbits. I sometimes use a stringer (someone who helps gather quotes) when we report on multiple visits so we can cover as much ground as possible. Devin said he didn't talk to the stringer. In my report it read that I spoke to him instead of classifying that it came from my stringer. I should have clarified that my stringer spoke to him. I apologized and told him we would immediately take down the quote, which we did. I'll never get help again on any visit weekend and will only go by my personal conversations with a kid. I sincerely apologize for this error in judgement to the Ole Miss community, 247Sports and most importantly to Devin Brown himself and his family.

Stringers are common in journalism and I have been one, as well as a user of stringers back in my previous career.
Stringers either share the by-line or get a "contibuting" line at the end.
Yancey is playing fast and loose with the term Stringer.
He posted bullshite on Twitter, got called out, and made up imaginary interns to blame it on.
