This year's team is somewhat similar to that 1950 squad, especially on the defensive side.

In 1950...

-- Kentucky posted 5 shutouts (no shutouts this year, though)...

-- notable wins: #5 UK defeated #17 Florida, 40-6...while ranked #7, UK defeated #1 Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl, 13-7....

-- only loss came while ranked #3, an upset loss to #9 Tennessee, 7-0....

-- Coach Kirby said that this year's UK team will be the best offensive team the Dawgs will have faced so far this season.....

-- UGA has only scored 35 points the last 2 times they've played Kentucky. However, Kentucky has only scored a total of 3 points the past 2 games against the Dawgs. UK's defense will be a stiff test for our offense.....

-- Georgia will enter the game with a slew of injuries. Lord help us.

Although Texas A&M has trademarked and registered the "12th Man" phrase and logo, Georgia's going to need the Sanford Stadium crowd to be the same for the Dawgs on Dooley Field to help us get past the 'Cats.

GO DAWGS!!

Something to keep in mind, especially come November 6th: it's never an "upset" when Tennessee beats Kentucky.

If UK wins a natty in football before UGA, there isn’t enough popcorn in the world for what happens in Athens.
