Of Finley’s four drives

1 was a punt
1 was a missed FG (Finley accounted for 11 yards)
1 was a fumble (Finley accounted for 18 yards)
And the touchdown drive (good drive by Finley)

To say he was a success on 3 of 4 drives is again dishonest.

Oh, so is the argument now that the drive only "counts" if he accounts for all of the yardage himself?

What is extremely dishonest is trying to undermine a drive where the QB completed passes for first downs on 3rd down TWICE because what, he only had 18 yards total?

Here is the actuality of that drive:

quote:

1st & 10 at AUB 38
(9:35 - 4th) TJ Finley pass incomplete

2nd & 10 at AUB 38
(9:28 - 4th) Tank Bigsby run for 6 yds to the Aub 44

3rd & 4 at AUB 44
(8:50 - 4th) TJ Finley pass complete to Ja'Varrius Johnson for 9 yds to the GeoSt 47 for a 1ST down

1st & 10 at GAST 47
(8:01 - 4th) Tank Bigsby run for 5 yds to the GeoSt 42

2nd & 5 at GAST 42
(7:50 - 4th) TJ Finley pass incomplete

3rd & 5 at GAST 42
(7:32 - 4th) TJ Finley pass complete to Kobe Hudson for 9 yds to the GeoSt 33 for a 1ST down

1st & 10 at GAST 33
(7:00 - 4th) Tank Bigsby run for 2 yds to the GeoSt 31

2nd & 8 at GAST 31
(6:43 - 4th) Tank Bigsby run for 7 yds to the GeoSt 24 Tank Bigsby fumbled, recovered by GeoSt Jordan Veneziale

The two most significant plays on that drive were 9-yard completions by Finley. And they both came on 3rd down.

On the drive that led to a missed FG, he completed 1 of 2 passes. And he also RAN for a 1st down on 3rd and 1. The majority of that drive was running the ball by Hunter, who ran 4 times. Finley however still gets credit for converting a 3rd down on our own 49 yard line. Without that they don't even get to attempt a FG.

I think you forgot the argument.

I said dishonest to say Finley came in and won the game while Nix was losing it. The offense was not very productive with either of them in.

The reason for the turn around? Defense stopped getting gashed and we blocked a punt. Neither of which has to do with Nix or Finley.

Finley didn’t come in and do much of anything different than Bo. Completing two short passes that happen to be on third down doesn’t impress.

He had one good drive which I already gave him credit for.

All of this doesn’t even matter. As soon as he plays y’all will see. I don’t know why we act like this game is his first action in his career.
