How in the absolute monkey frick are there still people 10 pages later who haven’t bothered to read what I’ve said about that shift? I played college football. I know what a fricking shift is. That has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation.

Because the smart posters here can see though your bullshite. For example, no one who played college football says "near boundary". Its boundary side or field side. We would even let you get away with short side or wide side.

Second, you are a Bama fan so you don't get it. A lot of schools out there cannot line up and "Out talent"everyone, and Auburn is one of them. When they won it all it was because they had an other worldly talent in Cam Newton, and some key pieces sprinkled in. In fact, they were the team with the lowest level recruiting classes to win a title in 25 years or more. They have to out scheme their opponents, and its likely that their Admin understands that and is hiring accordingly. Maybe they understand being wedged between Bama, LSU, and GA is a recruiting war they cannot and have not been able to win, and are addressing it realistically.

So they hire a coach who has been able to string together 10 after 10 win season with smoke and mirrors, while rising p to beat P5 opponents on the reg to do what he does at Auburn. Maybe it works and maybe it doesn't, but kudos to Auburn for trying to fight the fight their way.
