re: Bobby Bowden started head coaching in 1959. From 1959-2020 where does he rank all time.

Ranking is just a weird way to look at it imo. All that matters is wins, losses and championships
Nick Saban (2008-2020)
Record: 163-17 (.905)
6 National Championships
7 SEC Championships
Bobby Bowden (1987-2000)
Record: 152-19-1 (.884)
2 National Championships
9 ACC Championships
I'm not trying to deride Bobby Bowden but to call FSU the 'best run' just isn't true.
Neutral site games have killed this for us. I hate them, but the last top 10 OOC opponent (regular season) was FSU in 2017, but was neutral site.

You havent traveled OOC to play a top 10 team in a long time.

when people talk the 15 year run for FSU they are talking the top 4 finshes.
I said I agree what Saban has done and is doing is better but its not the same.
and yea FSU was going OOC every year to play Miami and UF. Also took on ND, nebraska, pitt, ohio state, WV, LSU, auburn, south carolina, michigan, clemson, A&M all at the away stadium during the 80s and 90s when those teams were all top 10 at the time.
FSU wasnt scared of anyone and was independent during the 80s and would play whomever wherever.
what saban is doing is more impressive no doubt and Saban is the GOAT, but Bowdens run was also while having 2 other top 10 powers in the state.
