The portion that would go through Alabama is essentially US 80.
It is probably the least traveled US highway in the entire state.
Would be a useless interstate for most Alabamians

(a) The point of it is to connect military installations that now have no easy wide route

(b) Highway 80 isn't widely used by individuals, but it is very used by industry. Especially timber and agriculture.
