There won't be PODS
Texas will be in the West and OU to the East.

OU and UT will get their annual Red River Battle each year.

9 conference games so the little guys can maybe get to 6 wins and a bowl game each year.

Nothing to it. The AD's might need to throttle back on some of those bigger name OOC games already printed.

So if OU is in the East and Texas is in the West., what you are suggesting is a 7-1-1 schedule. 7 Division games +1 cross Division Permanent + rotate 7 other teams. So lets say LSU plays its 7 division games, plays Florida as its cross division and then in year 1 plays UK, the next time LSU plays UK is in year 8.

Not a fan of that one as it doesn't address a flaw in the current 6-1-1 format. The last time LSU went for example to UK was in 2007, Athens 2013, Knoxville 2016, etc. Kind of stinks in my view, personally would like to see all the teams in a shorter period of time.

Don't know how you do that in a straight Division format with 1 permanent cross over and 9 games.

I like the proposed pod system because you get to play all SEC teams at home at least once every 4 years.

And, I couldn't care less about UGA playing Auburn every year. They can play 2 times every 4 years and that continues their rivalry.
