No it doesn't.

Let the teams work out 3 permanent opponents. You can have 16 different virtual pods. For example AU can have AL, GA, FL if those teams agree. Bama can have AU, TN, LSU if those teams agree and so forth. With a 9 game conf schedule, you schedule home and away games over the next 4 yrs. This is the same as your fixed pod but allows for the preservation of more team specific rivalry games.

Isn't the push to have every team play every SEC team every 4 years the reason pods are being considered? It does suck that you can play for 4 years and never play UGA or Bama or LSU.

This is the best idea. No divisions, no pods.
