Having a newborn in August and we have a wedding to go to that is out of the country in October. Obviously we are bringing him to the wedding. Anyone have any experience with getting a passport that soon after birth? The passport website and their office was no help. Any information would be most appreciated.

You're traveling internationally with a 2 month old? That seems to be a bit much.

Put the baby in his car seat, get a white sheet and place it behind the baby’s head to take the picture

Bring all required docs to the passport application center and apply for passport

That’s why kids’ passports are only good for 5 years bc they change

Not sure about getting one for a baby that young. We got my son's around age 1 and it was good for 5 years.

Good luck. My niece applied for her passport in February. We had to make numerous phone calls even after it was "expedited" to get it in time for our Costa Rica trip a few weeks ago.

Y’all fricking crazy to take a newborn on a flight to Mexico.

So you have to miss an event bc of your kid. Get used to it.

Oh, and don't forget the fact you have to take a Covid test within 48 hours of returning to the US, even if you're vaccinated. And upload it to whatever airline you're flying before you're even allowed to board.

Because Biden said so.

There are passport services that will help expedite the process but be prepared to pay at least 500 dollars if they have to walk it through.

You’re in luck. No chance you get the passport that fast after a birth with all the backlog from COVID. Your wife won’t be happy at first, but will enjoy being home with the baby month 2. Have the sister-in-law do a live stream so your wife can watch.

Maybe once your child is born, your wife will feel differently.

Hope your newborn, who won’t be fully vaccinated yet, doesn’t catch anything while traveling internationally.

But hey, your wife’s gotta make that wedding!!!
