She simply decided not to compete, the press I read said she wasn't sure of being able to compete without injury, so she bowed out.

I must have read it differently. I read she quit because of "mental issues". Because she didnt think it was fair.

If she was injured, she was injured. Agree she should not compete.

You know a big thing with NIL that most don't know is that in the past olympic athletes couldn't be college athletes making money for themselves from their Olympic career, but now they can. This opens the door for many of these other sports that are traditionally olympic in nature to now have a great college experience with their sport

There were some quotes that came out shortly after that were saying she said that, and while she may have said that, I understand it. Either way, she eventually came out and said she's having an issue with the "twisties."

Not sure why it's called that, but if she goes off a vault doing what she does at the level of difficulty she does and loses her perception of where she is in the air, she could very easily injure herself very badly. Not to mention that it hurts the team when she can't perform.

And I think that can be a mental issue. There's a serious loss of confidence when that happens and she starts doubting herself, which is 100% mental. For someone like her who's dedicated most of her life at this point to competing at the highest level, that's got to be devastating to sit this out, which I'm sure is extremely hard to deal with mentally.
