Those 3 NCs must be hard to swallow during the time a team has to prove it on the field. I'm sure your fan base would have given anything to have simply played in a meaningless Bowl Game.
Not sure what you're rambling about here.

If you're talking about LSU- we've had optouts going into bowls. Starters who quit the team after the season, before the bowls.

UGA and Bama both laid eggs in the Sugar, after being out of the title picture in recent years.

I liked the bowls, as they used to be. Was thrilled as a kid when we got to the Orange in 83. Orange bowl doesn't mean nearly as much now, if it's not part of the playoff rotation.

A 24 team field covers most ranked teams, especially if you take away conference championships. Your CUSA, MWC and AAC teams, the champ will be usu ranked in the teens somewhere. If you're Memphis, you are probably thrilled just to get in. If you're LSU at 10-2, you're excited about hosting in the 1st rd, and hoping to get another shot at Alabama.

If you're 8-4, you're on the bubble or out. Wasn't a ton of excitement to go to the Poulan Bowl or wherever, you'd watch but it was pretty meh. Yeah, once it started you'd get into it, but nobody was bristling with anticipation leading into it.
