Lunatik we are rioting at the athletic building approximately 30 minutes after the announcement if it's Bianco

I don’t understand the hate for Bianco. Dude played for LSU, has done a good job at Ole Miss, isn’t a douche, and is a class act as far as coaches go.

Is it the best possible hire, no. Is that a bad hire? Absolutely not.

Paul won a national championship and made the CWS 5 times in 15 years. Most LSU fans agree that he underachieved and that it wasn't good enough. Bianco went to Omaha once in 20 years. He shouldn't even get a phone call much less an interview.

I mean Ole Miss fans want to get rid of him for postseason underperformance.

He's been to Omaha once in 20 tries at Ole Miss (can't count 2020 because there was no postseason), and that only happened because they were fortunate to play at ULL in the super regionals. At least half the LSU fanbase wanted Mainieri gone since he lost the CWS finals in 2017, if not sooner. I don't go that far, but Mainieri to Bianco is a huge downgrade. If he hadn't played and coached at LSU, he wouldn't even be mentioned among the candidates.

I'm good with checking the boxes of "Not a Douche" and "Class Act", but trips to Omaha need to happen once every three or four years, at the least, for those two boxes to matter. The other factor is that if you hire Bianco, you allow Ole Miss possibly to make a better hire. Essentially, you weaken your program and strengthen a division rival by hiring Bianco. No, thank you.
