A 12-team playoff would be NFL Lite - only without salary caps and limited free agency through the transfer portal. Which will naturally result in the same collection of superpowers getting in every year, as without the above there will be no parity whatsoever.

If that's what they want, that's what they'll get. But it won't be the sport we grew up with.

Yeah. You can go ahead and pencil in Bama, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Gus, and Clemson every year

I was listening to SXM Off Campus yesterday and one of the people (not sure if Mark Packard or his co-host) said that one of the coaches they spoke to said they will not recruit HS kids anymore just hit the portal each year.

I really like this idea, could you imagine hosting a CFP playoff game

6 highest-ranked conference champs

Wonder if this will be the P5 and 1 G5 champ or truly top 6 ranked conference champs, where last year a Cincy or Coastal gets in over an Oregon.

6 at-large.

I wonder if there will be certain rules or just the next 6 ranked teams. 2020 would have been
ND, TX A&M, UF, UGA, ISU, & Indiana with Pac 12 still left out

Dont think Gus will keep UCF at the top.

but just think about the money it would generate for the SEC. We could get three teams in. I like it!
