I really have thought this was all a smokescreen from the start. I don't think he was really going after Sully but wanted to create a diversion more or less. He strikes me a pretty sharp AD, and I don't think he would be caught blind sided by the board rejecting someone he wanted, and if he really wanted him he wouldn't have made it so public.

I could be wrong of course which makes me wonder what kind of skeletons Sully has in his closet. Hard to think we would keep him if it was that bad. Time will tell, but I am sure he will hire a good coach as he has a good track record of that.

I read somewhere that his kids couldn't leave the state per the custody agreement with his ex wife and LSU didn't want that distraction.

Could be something simple as that.

Honestly, I don't think it's all that bad. I think that the LSU BOS is being hypersensitive because of the Title IX issues and the stuff with Sully may just be some new stuff that's coming out. A fear of the unknown may be the biggest issue.
