they want more playoffs games and teams, cut out some regular season

Very easily can be done . I am for cutting out the Western Ky , NEW MEXICO ST type games anyway .

No, it can't be done easily at all. Not at all.

The problem is that you're thinking of it as a fan of one of the elite teams that would benefit.

If you expand the field to 8, 12, or 16 teams, there are still 80-100 teams who will never sniff the playoffs in your lifetime. Not even in your children's lifetimes.

Why should the Wake Forests and the Purdues and the MTSUs and the FAUs of college football give up the revenue of the 11th or 12th game just so fans of the elite 10-20...the LSUs and Georgias, for example, have a better chance of getting in the playoffs?

How do you sell 80 schools who won't get in even a 16 team playoff in 100 years on the idea of cutting games? It can't be done.

Yeah there is zero chance of a reduction in games ever happening. This is all little more than a knee jerk reaction to the number of players sitting out of major, but non-playoff, bowl games. It's a monkey's paw scenario waiting to happen though, because 5 of those 12 teams (3-4 of the additional 8) are inevitably going to come from the SEC every single year and people are going to lose their minds over it.

We played for numerous years with an 11 game schedule

I am not so sure mid majors or G5 won’t be separate in the not too distant future

For the record I don’t care if they cut them or not. I am for expansion to 8 teams though . 12 is too many . I also think it would help SOS too bc teams would be more willing to take a game that could be tough and not be penalized as much for a loss.. ADs are starting to take notice of empty seats vs the MTSU types now
