This isn't even about fielding the true contenders at this point. Usually, we see the 4th seed get beat up pretty well in the semi-final and now we're about to have 12 teams.
Regular season and conference title games no longer matter. All worth it for the Pac 12 to get some extra money I guess.

Conference championship games really shouldn’t have ever mattered anyway. The national champion is the only one who should be celebrating, and it’s refreshing to see college football move away from the participation trophy era
