This appears to be a good get for Georgia. How did I see it before the Georgia fans? Are you guys drunk?

Georgia has again reached into the transfer portal this offseason and it has landed another defensive back. Dawgs247 has learned that former Clemson cornerback Derion Kendrick is now on his way to Athens and then will join the team officially at some point in the next 24 hours.
Kendrick appeared in 39 games for Clemson over the past three years with 23 starts. He started his career at wide receiver in 2018 but moved to cornerback in 2019 where he was a second-team All-ACC selection. He was a first-team selection after the 2020 season.

All the charges were dropped by the way, for the thing he was wrongfully accused of at Clemson.

This also means UGA has landed the number 1 and number 2 ranked players in the transfer portal this cycle, both addressing dire needs.

The #1 ranked player in the transfer portal is Henry To'oto'o.

ETA: Was, not is. Henry is already enrolled at Alabama.

I honestly wonder what he does in the SEC. It should be interesting. He was run by on multiple occasions against OSU in the game this season. There probably aren't many WRs as good as Olave/Wilson anywhere including the SEC, but he should get tested way more on a week by week basis than he was at Clemson.

We've seen and known about it for awhile...or at least that it was expected. We've just been busy arguing with LSU fans about Arik Gilbert.
Seriously, both Gilbert and Kendrick make me nervous. I mean, both are loaded with talent and could potentially help us, but both have also had difficulties at their previous schools. Hopefully they can find a home at Georgia and get everything straightened out.

I think he will be solid, but not earth shattering. However, maybe he will be. I mean another year under his belt, and playing to get into the NFL.
We lost something like 5-6 DBs to graduation and transfer portal, so it was a major need. We have brought three players in from the portal this offseason, though, so I think we will be okay.

Was he wrongfully accused or did he complete a pre trial diversion/probation that resulted in the dismissal of the charges?

Dabo kicked Kendrick off the team for multiple infractions including an arrest for weapons possession. Good player but ticking time bomb.
Hope he pans out for UGA.
