You will get rich.

I have small to medium commercial ground-up projects, and the biggest challenge I have is even getting companies to bid the work.

Literally get told "we're too busy to bid that right now" about twice a week.

Also, please be politically conservative. We need to dilute the soy.

I considered getting into the building trades after high school but, like a jackass, decided to go a different route. With the kind of money I could have made in twenty years in NW Arkansas I'd be retired at the age of 51 now and probably replying to this from my house on the lake.

For a while my next door neighbor in Fayetteville was a Mexican plumber. We were shooting the breeze one day and the topic of why he was living in that apartment complex with his family came up. Pretty damn humbling to hear "I'm waiting till I have 750 grand saved up in the bank before I buy a house. Should be another year or so."

I don't know any plumber who isn't knocking down $200k/year right now.

Same for electricians.

Masonry and concrete guys are probably averaging about $100/hr based on what I've paid lately, labor only. It's nuts around here right now.

Anyone in a building trade would probably be better off going to Missouri or Illinois, you know, where it's not right to work for less.

If Arkansas repealed right to work for less you'd be flooded with trade guys from neighboring states.

Interesting in theory, but Zip Recruiter and Salary.com show the states dead-even in average pay for plumbers and master plumbers. Minimum wage here is $11/hr so it isn't like anybody is getting paid dirt wages, even with zero skills.

Northwest Arkansas' two-county average right now has to be sky-high, especially for a master plumber. I've seen it myself.

No doubt. I'm on the supply side of residential and commercial builds in 5 different areas of Arkansas and we cant keep product in the warehouse. Orders are out as far as late August.

Burton Pools is backed up a year.

If someone has the knowledge to start their own pool installation business, they can walk in and have a full load of business.
