quote:

Matthew 5:15-16

quote:
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The Bible teaches that public prayers shouldn’t be showy or long or done in order to impress men. You can still pray publicly, but that’s why those prayers are typically kept short. Bless your food but don’t try to impress anybody by taking 30min. Neither should you pretend to drop your keys and speed pray under the table.

This is the key. The passage Harry quotes, in context, is speaking of doing it only to gain attention to yourself. To put on a show so other men will notice you and bring attention to yourself. I really don't get that feeling from Tebow. He is about as sincere as one can get.

The proper term is "witness". IE is he a true or false witness to the faith he espouses. I suspect that is a theological argument unsuited to this idiom of Rantards.
