I guess it would depend highly on who was hired instead.

We're talking about a guy who put you guys on the map. Brought you your first BCS MNC and your first NC in YEARS and left you with a pool of talent. NOW, before you go there, I HAVE NEVER EVER SAID Miles was winning with Saban's recruits. I know Bama fans have- Hatred stems from this, fwiw. I have always said Miles COACHED what he had and what he recruited. I understand that he came to Alabama and you can't like him because of that, but the HATRED is just CRAZY !!!

I dont hate saban at all..think he's a great coach..doesnt have the best personality in the world, but whatever..it's the DELUSIONAL fans that i dont like..the ones that say "bama's gonna win the NC in 08!!!" etc. etc...youre trying to get us to say that saban was the reason that LSU is what it is today..now SOME of that may be true, but what was saban before LSU hired him? LSU made saban...they put a good coach in the drivers seat of a sleeping monster and put the reigns in his hands, and LSU built around him..most of the players were from La. anyways.

again..hate the program, hate the fans, DONT hate the coach..i mean i dont really like him but i sure as hell have respect for what he's accomplished

Too late to think. but if I had a list I could answer the question. We could be in the same boat as Ole Miss, Miss State, and Arky. Or we could be in the same boat we're in today. I dont think that Saban was the only coach available at the time that could have righted the ship and got it on course. LSU did shell out some dollahs for an unproven Saban though.

i dont hate saban , i just think he would have more respect for the people who give him millions of dollars and their devotion. he's a liar and can be easily manipulated with money. good coach, but has lost his shine in my opinion.

Thats a stupid argument because saban's players recruited the current LSU players. They're just second generation Sabanites.
