I was asking if anyone knew why this year, specifically, we have fallen off Beiser's previous level.
And I was noting that our AD made a generation-affecting mistake in passing on Vitello. We won't get Vitello now, but even with our facilities and support I think he could have replicated his current success at Tenn. That is how you fix a non-revenue sport. Scherzer even pledged a $1 million donation for baseball if Vitello were hired.

Mizzou did have 2-3 players drafted last year, right? I believe pitchers which may answer your question of what happened to baseball. Tough road to hoe in baseball in the SEC.
Mizzou had 5 taken in 2019 and 1 taken in 2020, of which 4 were pitchers. Too young on the mound this season
