About as deep south as you can get really. Get into the ouachitas and ozarks and it's different. The land is a lot less suited for farming, and as a result slavery was less common. Deep south culture doesn't exist where slavery didn't have a strong foothold, since it really developed out of a mixing of Irish and and African cultures
