....but, only 1 has never lost in The Rose Bowl Game (who cares if it's been 40 years).

Alabama has won more Rose Bowls than any team not in the PAC or Big 10 (or however many these days), which are the 2 conferences that played yearly in the bowl for 50+ years. In fact, Alabama won the last Rose Bowl before that yearly PAC vs Big 10 matchup started.

Alabama is 5-1-1 in Rose Bowl. It is not well known, but in 1961, Alabama was undefeated and the PAC-8 Big-10 Rose Bowl agreement had expired.

Coach Bryant held the team out of accepting a bowl for a week hoping the Rose Bowl would invite Alabama. Supposedly he dressed out a couple of black assistant trainers and had then stand right behind him the last two games so that cameras would show a sham integration during that upheaval.

However the Rose Bowl invited the Big-10 champion anyway, and next year renewed the agreement. Coach never got over missing that Rose Bowl opportunity and wrote about it in his book.

Only one SEC team has won a national championship in the Rose Bowl. Guess who?
