Bama gives out a lot of free money to attract out of state talent. They have 40 full time recruiters around the country. Alabama does not not have a large population and relies on OSS, Tennessee is similar.

That's not even remotely accurate; according to College Board, which differs slightly from the statistics shared in this thread but remains in the same general ballpark, Tennessee is 82% in-state while Alabama is 39% in-state.

Most SEC schools are becoming progressively saturated with OOS kids/northerners, sure, but Alabama leads the non-Vandy pack followed distantly by South Carolina when it comes to Yankee transplants.
