I'm not there now, but I have spent most of my life in that green zone. My parents and both sets of grandparents were born and raised in that area and never left it. They are all buried there today. When my uncle (who was a contractor who loved to hunt and fish) died he had his casket brought to the cemetery on a flatbed truck with pallbearers in overalls. His headstone is enormous and has a bass and deer etched into it.

When you think of the classic Hank Jr. songs like "A Country Boy Can Survive," "Dixie On My Mind," "If the South Woulda Won," etc., no place in the country is a better representation of that mindset than southwest Alabama.

Sounds like my family. We're from Greene County (Eutaw and Boligee)
