The snub had to have been intentional. Was Caslen still pissed that she opposed his hiring? If so, this was petty and foolish.
Was Moore more trouble than she was worth? Maybe, but her school was the only program we have that is of significant renown. Dropping her in this way only tarnishes the school, it doesn't help it at all.
Caslen has a long arse row to hoe to earn any political capital or social goodwill. He's off to a pretty dismal start.

Found this interesting.
Shane Beamer and Bob Caslen were both at The Masters today but not together.
Shane was with Harris Pastides. Totally separate from Caslen.

Caslen gave the marching orders to clip both Muschamp and Martin so he has some social good will from me.

If Caslen (either under the influence of the BOT or by his own intent) directly instructed our Stewardship Office not to reach out to Darla to at least offer condolences, then USC is officially the biggest shite show university in the country.
If our Stewardship Office simply wasn't aware of Darla's mother's condition and dropped the ball, it is an alarming view into the overall incompetence of our university and its leaders. A simple "We're praying for your family and are here for anything you need," even if you're feigning it due to recent disagreements, is Donor Relations 101.
Either way, you don't let political grudges spill over into family affairs. Darla was clearly looking for an excuse to publicly eviscerate our university after Caslen was forced through, but it shouldn't have been over something as effortless as offering condolences. Surely it was only a matter of time before we gave her another reason to do it.
Our entire university, from top to bottom, is amateur hour. Our president is a political puppet. And there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

Not necessarily. Central development was an absolute mess for a while, and that was exacerbated when they eliminated about 12 positions due to budgetary concerns (I would think that you'd want to keep those people who are responsible for bringing in money when you're worried about, well, bringing in money). I won't go into the details, but there was kind of a perfect storm of events that plausibly could have led to that ball getting dropped.
