Honestly surprised by Missouri. Their absolute suckage across the board since 2015 has made me forget that it wasn’t always that way.
Funny enough, our “best” sport (Basketball) hasn’t had the high point equivalents of Football and Baseball.
For example, Mizzou has never reached the Final Four (despite 28 NCAA appearances). But football has finished Top 5 three times (#5 in 1960, #4 in 2007, #5 in 2013). And baseball (although currently garbage) has a National Championship in 1954 plus three runner ups (1952, 1958, 1964).
It’s really a shame we can’t get some competent leadership (or fan support) at Mizzou. It’s the only FBS school in the 18th largest state in the US, plus 2 major cities in state to recruit from...the resources are there.

Pro sports state.
God made the chicken, who laid the egg.
Simple.
When you have/had pro sports teams which have won World Series, Cards/Royals; NBA title, Hawks; Super Bowls, Chiefs and Rams; Blues, played in the Stanley Cup Final multiple times and finally broke through two years ago, and even a college basketball championship, SLU, it's not just about scheduling and wins and losses. It's about competing with life long fandom in many cases, which competes for the same dollars on any many of the same days, and normally includes 2-3 or more hours less travel.
From a marketing point of view, it is a hard sell in St. Louis. St. Louis has been mostly ignored except for recruiting for years at a time. It seems Sterk has some understanding of the need to step up the effort with his recent move with Howard Richards. It will be a long slow process which is hampered by advancing technology.
