Top 150 senior Mouhamed Dioubate is down to five

After a strong summer with the PSA Cardinals, senior Mouhamed Dioubate has decided to cut his list.

The 6-foot-7 forward at Putnam (Conn.) Science Academy tells 247Sports that he's down to a final five of Alabama, Kansas State, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. According to Dioubate, all of those schools see him in him the same things that 247Sports has, that he's productive, versatile and will do anything a coach wants him to do on the floor.

"Where I come from, when I get the opportunity to show what I can do I try to do that as best I can," Dioubate told 247Sports. "I feel like I have a unique game and it was the opportunity that I was given.

"It is all about maximizing opportunities and what positions I'm put in."

Dioubate broke down what he likes about each of his finalists.

Alabama: "I like the player comparison they gave me of Herb Jones. That's one of the things I liked and I like how they see my potential. They saw me play at top 100 camp and they saw me playing the wing and doing some more shooting the ball and stuff. They had seen me play before but they didn't know I could do some other stuff until they saw me more. I liked the player comparison and the skill development."

Kansas State: "I like the coaches. Coach Jareem (Dowling) and coach Jerome (Tang), they were at most of my games this EYBL season. They were at my games a lot and coach really likes me. He likes dogs and when he was at Baylor he had guys like Davion Mitchell and players like that. He likes dogs for real and that's definitely me."

Maryland: "Coach Willard it is really about the relationships and the relationships that I have with their coaches. Coach Willard says that he really likes my game and he stays in contact with me a lot, even throughout the summer ball stuff. It isn't like it was just after EYBL ended that he was in contact with me. I also like that (Willard) recruits New York players going back to 2014 I believe guys like Isaiah Whitehead and Desi Rodriguez, New York guys, I like that."

Virginia Tech: "I like the conference that they are in and I like (Mike Young). They've been really involved with me throughout the recruitment. I like the offer they made, they are straight forward with it. I like the coaching staff, they are in contact with me a lot. Mostly every day and we have a good connection."

Wake Forest: "I had a zoom with them and (Steve Forbes) is a likable coach. He kept it real with me on the zoom and stuff like that. For me it is really about player development at this point and the player development that they were telling me about, the gym hours available and the schedule that they are playing and stuff like that, I like all of that about Wake Forest."

"I'm going to be setting visits up soon. I will probably take my first visit in like two weeks we just have to make the date official. I'm not sure on a date right now but I'm definitely trying to do it in the Fall.

"You always want to go somewhere that you are liked and where you fit, you know your playing style fits and and the coaches and players keep it real with you. Like before you even get there this is what it is and even some stuff might not be in your favor but you can work through it that's just being real. Also where are you going to get better at and excel and get to the next level, that's what it is for me."
