I hope I'm wrong because it seems inevitable that he's going to be signing with us, but to me this is just a polite way of saying "great kid, but not really a P-6 talent."

There isn't a ton out there on him, because he isn't a highly rated kid, but i've seen some that insinuate that he's due to be a riser when rankings update after summer ball.

I don't mind taking a slightly lower rated kid that projects to be a multi year player every once in a while. I don't want to be doing it annually, but having one sprinkled in every few years is probably a good thing for some continuity from year to year. Especially when it is a tough ballhandling guard from in state that matches the culture that we want and that is kind of what this kid sounds like.

I don't have a problem with taking a guy who is expected to be a developmental 3-4 year player, if that is the understanding from both sides. Having a few of those guys in the program at any given time is pretty necessary to maintaining a veteran led locker room. With the portal I've just become really skeptical about any recruit who doesn't project to play relatively early in his career.

This right here. March Madness with some 3 year junior guards peppered in is nice. I do hope that we get to mix him in with some 4 and 5 stars though lol
