What, you couldn't get a scholarship? It got pretty easy to get one like 15 years ago.

Not a full ride.

Everything about Southern Miss was cheaper for me because I lived in Mississippi and within daily driving distance at the time.

So you grew up and went to school in Mississippi, and you're also a fan of a program in Louisiana, and you chide others about intelligence though Mississippi and Louisiana...

I don't see what the big deal is here.

Your name is SIDEWALK Tiger. It's not like you were hiding that you didn't go to LSU.

I did go to LSU but I lived in EBR most of my youth so it was both in state and convenient. I did take a long hard look at other schools despite being a lifelong Tiger fan. Purposely avoided other SEC schools because I could never pull against LSU. Got into Texas and would've gone but my dad wouldn't spring for out of state tuition and I wasn't convinced it was worth paying that much more either. My degree paid off tremendously so staying close to home worked out fine. And I met plenty of Texans at LSU.

Given all the people drowning in student loan debt these days, I sure as shite don't blame anybody for staying close to home to save money.
