Why LSU fans love Will Wade so much

Here are some of his accomplishments in 4 years after taking over a team that won 2 conference games and was completely torn down and rebuilt.
Conference championship
Sweet 16 (it's his team regardless)
Most conference wins the last 3 years
Only team to get the double bye last 3 years
Only team to win 10 conference games last 3 years

He's doing things that haven't been done at LSU in nearly 30 years and he's doing it at a time that the conference is actually competing on a national scale.

I do. He is a cheater. That's the price of doing business in college basketball. All of those other coaches at LSU were cheating too including Johnny Jones.

Soooooo doing what every school is doing is cheating. You’re saying this because he was caught or they potentially have his voice recorded. I don't dislike Will at all... The whole cheating thing, to that I say, get the speck outta your own eye... IMO he's a damn good coach and his players seem to love him... That in and of itself speaks VOLUMES...
I'll say this, and I'll get crucified for this one, if given the choice between my son playing for Will Wade or the psychotic (although arguably the GOAT) Bob Knight, I'd take Wade without a second thought... Yeah he fricked up with the strong arse offer comment but the NCAA is so freaking dirty... It's almost laughable when they level NOI's...

Yes, we get it. He wins.
But the way the offense is run is nauseating. The first several minutes against the Bonnies had me chewing glass. I could see other coaches pointing and saying "This is exactly how NOT to run your offense". The Bonnies were missing their shots but at least they worked to set up open looks.
LSU was damn lucky the Bonnies came out shooting even colder than they did. I will say the rebounding and defense was much improved. That helped immensely. Eventually Cam Thomas just took over.
Wade can certainly recruit. I remain highly unpersuaded that he's all that great of a coach though.
I hope to be proven wrong tonight.
