I don't think it is such praise for Davis as it is cautious of Bo Nix improving and the new staff not being bound to him so much.
Its stupid because regardless of whether or not Bo Nix improves, a 5'10 true freshman is still highly improbable to be a better option. Hence why it would be a complete shock if anyone other than Nix is starting this season.
Also, they're already talking up Nix as if he's the clear leader. Which shouldn't be a surprise because once again, he is in fact the best option on the roster.

This and if you listen to Bobo's press conference, the comments he made about the QB tell me this:
1. He likes Bo bc he is athletic and most experienced and will pick up the offense the most quickly.
2. His comments on Davis tell me he thinks he is a long way from fighting for the top QB spot bc he simply has so much to learn mentally for that position. Bobo did say he has a strong arm and nice throwing motion. Also mentioned he is built really strong to handle hits if he runs.
In the end, Bobo seemed to hesitate in finding enough positive info for Davis to place him in the QB competition(Remember, he should still be in HS right now).
With the info we have, it doesn't make sense to think DAvis will take over the QB position before the end of the year...

I fully agree with you on the validity of the argument. I am just saying people are trying. I think BN starts and gets better week to week. I do not think we will see some miracle change by week 1, but I do believe he will progress and by mid year...hopefully be the QB we have been needing.
