Absolutely no. His recruiting, staff hires, and results were in decline. We fired him December 2004 and he accepted a job as QB coach with Charlie Wise's Notre Dame right after and then had to resign before coaching a game due to a heart-attack and surgery. Would he have turned it around at Ole Miss in 2005? No. He had a heart attack and heart surgery AND the talent and staff were not good. No one knew he would have a heart attack at the time of course. We managed to get out of the frying pan and jumped right into the fire.
