I know this is an unpopular opinion, but South Carolina should get some credit here for their two NIT Championships in 2005 and 06. With the number of automatic bids awarded to small conferences by no means does this mean they were #65 or #69 depending on counting the 'play in ' games.

Playing in the NIT is no different than playing in the Belk Bowl,Birmingham Bowl, Liberty Bowl, etc in football. Are you seriously going to say (in a "non-Covid" season any SEC football team at 6-6 or 7-5 or even 8-4 is going to turn down ANY bowl game?

Yea, I think the fact that you don't get the losing season penalty kind of takes care of that.

But I dunno.
