as previous poster just mentioned, using computer polls two weeks into the season is pretty pointless. There just aren't enough data points yet. I can assure you that ULL has a lot of talent on their squad. They have two starters, in fact, that were starters for us previously. One of them, CJ Willis, was a high school AA and a top 60 prospect. He just couldn't get it together his freshman season and transferred.

Tulane's computer models took a huge hit by playing UNO last week and losing via walk-off the last two games of the State series after having 9th inning leads in both games IIRC. All I'm saying is I don't think you can emphatically say that Ole Miss has had a tougher schedule to start the season. They're basically about dead even.

ELO Rankings are generally almost as accurate as any Top 25 poll can be at this point in the season. In fact, the ELO rankings are super similar to the current Top 25 polls.

It’s not like RPI where the #1 team is a 7-8 Northern Idaho team for the first 4 weeks.

At this point in the season, no rankings should be give a ton of weight, and that includes the Baseball America and D1Baseball polls as well, not just computer rankings.

But they do mean something. ELO is by far the best indicator of how good teams 26-302 are. It’s not much different from KenPom in basketball. People use those rankings year round. So at this point, I do believe that Ole Miss has played a tougher schedule. I could be wrong, but that data does mean something and it does point towards Ole Miss having a tougher SOS.
