KC lost the Super Bowl because both of their starting tackles were out and Mahomes was running for his life every damn play. Go look at what the Saints did to Brady when we got pressure on him in that reg season game. Same exact scenario. They win that game if they both healthy.
LSU lost b/c of atrocious defense and red zone play calling again at Mizzou.
Do you even watch the games???
Why yes, did you?
KC vs Tampa game stats:
First downs: KC 22, Tampa 26
Total plays: KC 69, Tampa 63
Total drives: KC 11, Tampa 11
Total yards: KC 350, Tampa 340
Passing: KC 243, Tampa 195
Rushing: KC 107, Tampa 145
Score: KC 9, Tampa 31
In summation: KC moved the ball better than Tampa between the 20s. Even ran the ball some. But they were held out of the endzone because they simply couldn't navigate the red zone. That last 20 yards of real estate that has many a spread team wandering in the wilderness.
By the way, Tampa had it figured out in their first meeting in the regular season that they lost 27-24. After KC got out to a sizable lead, they held KC to 7 points in the second half and shut them out in the 4th quarter. Tampa had them figured out defensively long before the rematch in the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl was merely the 5th quarter of the first game.
In conclusion: A balanced spread offense is being able to run the ball IN THE RED ZONE.

Sure, once they were down by three touchdowns. Half of their total yards came on their last three drives when the score was 31-9 and Tampa was playing a soft zone
