Is Saban bringing back the live elephant as a mascot?

That would be cool as hell. Alamite II would be its name I guess? He made a "recruiting" visit to one to see if it had the right attitude to be a team player.
Bring back the live mascot. All other teams have one and I think Saban has decided Alabama should finally have theirs again.
Let's see Bevo make this one shite all all over the field like it did UGA.

Back on TideSports, there wasn’t a summer that would go by without Kingpin starting the “Alabama is getting a live elephant and it’s name is Albatross” thread. A few idiots would always take the bait, too.

This is actually the son of Alabatross; it's kept in an elephant pasture on the outskirts of Northport.
They've even been talking about, if it happens, maybe duplicating all the NC rings Bama has and putting them on his tusks during games. Would be the coolest elephant ever.

If it happens this time, and it looks like it may, the cheerleaders could scoop it up during the game and just let the 3rd and 4th stringers clean up any leftover after the game.

Lol me and kingpin back when Nick first got hired speed the rumor of a random assistant (he picked) was going to Bama as OC - two days later he was being interviewed on ESPN

Cool for Alabama, not so cool for the elephant. But what does that matter? It's not like elephants have feelings or anything.

I loved it every time. It always meant the dog days of summer were near and the season was just around the corner.

He's a young elephant, according to their website. So, as Bama's continues to win NC's, his tusks will grow to match. I'm sure Saban took that into account when visiting.
