Clemson over Georgia. Georgia is almost brand new in the secondary and struggled to run the ball against some good but not elite defensive fronts last season.

So did Clemson. Last year both teams had 2 games where they didn't rush for over 50 yards. But guess what, both UGA and Clemson had over 400 yards passing in those games. The offense adjusted. As for the secondary the next man up played pretty good in the bowl game with all the starters out. They held a high scoring Cincinnati team to 5.6 yards per pass. So you logic is pure arse. Georgia is loaded going into 2021.

Georgia
vs Miss State 8 total yards .03 ypc
vs Cincinnati 45 total yards 1.9 ypc

Clemson
vs Notre Dame 34 total yards 1.0 ypc
vs Ohio State 44 total yards 2.0 ypc

I still find this stat line hilarious given Georgia’s historical commitment to the run.

Because Cincy and Mississippi State are the equivalent of Clemson and Ohio State.

Can any UGA poster not take things so personally? I just said the secondary is new and inexperienced. Which is true, you lost 2 starters in Campbell and Stephenson after the game and had 3 other DBs with experience go pro.

Cincy also averaged 220 yards passing and 2 TDs passing a game — UGA gave up 200 yards passing and 2 TDs passing. Pretty much even, so your point makes 0 sense. UGA won the game off of their vastly superior talent in the trenches, not bc of the secondary.
