Jim Wells won a lot of baseball games. I didn’t realize he had declined so much in his last seasons. I do know this, MSU got a ton of talent out of Alabama for years and still do. Pretty sure a lot of those guys grew up Crimson fans or Auburn football fans but again, always had lots of good ones out of Alabama most likely because we love our baseball.

I think both Bama and Auburn have made steps in the right direction in your baseball programs. The SEC has only gotten more brutal now. The days of going 22-8 in conference play are probably gone.

We lost a lot of kids that we used to sign to State and Ole Miss at the end of Well's era and during Gaspard's. Then, Auburn started signing those kids (Bohanan, as a matter of fact).

We haven't locked it all down (and never will), but we sign more of those kids now and have signed really good players out of Atlanta and various enclave's that Bohanan has good working relationships with (Canadian baseball, for one).

Absolutely. I believe the last 3 seasons there has been a SEC team in the CWS with a conference record of between 14-16 and 16-14. It's insane.
