And as Alabama innovates, others do. Auburn and Ole Miss pushed the SEC (and Alabama) to evolve their offenses. Alabama’s defense was smothering the Tuberville/Miles/Richt philosophies, and in came the hurry up/zone option styles of Gus and Freeze. 

So I’d say it’s been good for the SEC. The dominance of Alabama’s program though - longevity wise - has deteriorated interest in CFB though. There will always be dynasties, but they usually only last a handful of years.
