Without having to go into all of the caveats of injuries and who will play where and yadda yadda yadda, what are our realistic expectations? Are we still looking at a probable ceiling of 4th or 5th in the West, winning 30ish+ games and a 2 seed in a regional?

Yes, but we're now squarely back in the mix of SEC NCAAT programs and every year from now through the next 3 the roster is going to get more talented.

We finally got the roster back to a point where most of the starters were SEC caliber players last year. Next year the roster should have SEC quality depth with some actual elite talented freshmen and some upperclassmen who are talented enough to be legitimate all-conference level players (Denton, Diodati, Jean, Williamson, Hamiter).

One of the biggest things, IMHO, will be whether the younger pitchers who struggled this year can improve and give us quality innings in relief, mid week and back end of weekends (Giles, Eddington, Hitt, Green).

Yeah I agree with all that SummerofGeorge said. The roster is only getting more talented even with the loss of CP for presumably the rest of his Bama career. Depth will be much better in the pitching staff this next year, which will be a godsend.

As for the SEC next year, I still see Arkansas, Vandy, Tennessee, Florida, and Miss St. as a head above us, but I believe we are in squarely in that next group of teams with LSU, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and maybe Georgia. We have the chance to be one of the best, if not the best, of that group if our pitching is as good as we believe it has the potential to be.

So, in essence, yes to your question.
